The Community Relations Committee helps build strong connections between our union and the community we serve. By coordinating outreach programs—such as “It’s a Gas” and other collaborative efforts with CTA and local associations—the committee works to strengthen public support for educators and public education.
The committee also plays a key role in managing the union’s scholarship program by helping to distribute applications, collect submissions, select recipients, and coordinate with the Treasurer to process scholarship awards.
In partnership with the Executive Board, the committee attends meetings as needed and takes on additional community-focused initiatives to highlight the positive impact our members have both inside and outside the classroom.
