The Equity and Human Rights Committee is committed to fostering a workplace that is inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination. This committee advocates for policies and practices that promote equity for all members, ensuring that everyone—regardless of race, gender, disability, or background—has an equal opportunity to succeed and thrive.

The committee works to identify and address inequities within the workplace, promote awareness of human rights issues, and provide support to members facing discrimination or bias. By collaborating with union leadership, the district, and other organizations, the committee helps create an environment that values diversity and fairness for all.

The committee also educates members on their rights and works to ensure that human rights and equity are central to union actions and policies. Regular updates are provided to the Executive Board to ensure that issues of equity and human rights are addressed and prioritized.
