A message from President Rader
Attention ADTA Members!
Mediation has ended without progress, and bargaining will resume on October 1st. In the meantime, we are ramping up our organizing efforts.
Although there was earlier discussion about working Saturday School, that information has been clarified and we are boycotting it. Instead, we are calling on all members to join us in a Rally on Saturday September 20th at the shopping centers on the corner of 395 and Palmdale.
Please plan to attend and help spread the word. Here’s what’s coming up:
Zoom Meeting: Wednesday 9/17 at 4:00 pm — learn our next steps and how you can play a role.
By Thursday you will be getting red and blue flyers to pass out to parents before and after school ON MONDAY, off campus (on the sidewalk, at the driveways).
Sign-Making Party: Walgreen’s, Saturday 9/20 from 8–10 am — we’ll reuse the backs of existing signs to double our message power. Wear your red shirts. We will tailgate.
Rally: Saturday 9/20 at 10 am to noon at the corner of 395 and Palmdale — we need the same amazing energy you brought to the last board meeting!
Wear your “DIGNITY NOT LUXURY” buttons every day.
Work to Rule: On hold until after the October 1 bargaining session
Our united message:
PRIORITIZE CLASSROOM SPENDING!
The district must reallocate funds to prioritize students — and that requires a stable teaching population.
Parent and Community Calls to Action:
Email school board members.
Attend board meetings.
Contact your student’s principal.
We are now 15 months without a contract. It’s time for the district to put students first by supporting the people who work with them every day.
Let’s stand together and make our voices heard!
Attention ADTA Site Reps!
1) PLEASE hold your 10-minute meetings and tell your fellow educators -- we need everyone to step up NOW
2) PLEASE tell your new teachers that if they signed up to teach Saturday school they do not have to withdraw
3) PLEASE check the ADTA website for information
