We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, September 9th, 2025

Greetings Members:

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the rally in front of the District Office and joining us in the Boardroom for the meeting at 5:30 P.M. We will have buttons and signs ready to help spread the message that it is time to settle our contract. We hope to have as many speakers as possible, because it will help drive home the message that we are overdue for a settled contract.

If you do plan on speaking, we would like you to keep a couple things in mind.

  1. Refrain from discussing specific monetary points. It is a very touchy issue, and we would be better served to share personal narratives regarding the financial hardships caused by the high cost of our health insurance contribution and lack of a settled contract.

  2. We are already in a very tense situation, please avoid personal attacks and disrespect towards our cabinet and board members. They do not help us move closer to a settled contract; in fact, they only make a settled contract harder to reach.

The rally starts at 5:00 P.M. We will be serving drinks, snacks, and pizza at 6:00 P.M., while the board goes to closed session.

If we have a strong enough showing the district may realize it is in their best interest to settle. We need you there, we are STRONGER TOGETHER! Stand up for our union, stand up for our members, but most importantly stand up for yourself.

In solidarity,
Tammy Smith
ADTA Corresponding Secretary

Dear ADTA members,

Your bargaining team would greatly appreciate your attendance at the board meeting rally on Tuesday 9/9 at 5:00 p.m.  As we head into the 2nd month of the school year we are still sitting on an expired contract. We are the only district in the entire high desert with an expired contract. The district has wasted months of the bargaining team's time by first, completely withholding an offer for health and salary, then at the last minute, giving an absolute insult of an offer. They are holding strong to the abysmal  offer as we move forward into mediation.  The goal of Tuesday is to show the board and the cabinet that we are willing to show up in large numbers to fight for what we deserve as educators.

Your presence at this rally will also help the bargaining team know that we have a united front behind us at the table. As we move into the next mediation meeting the team may have to make the decision to move a step closer to strike.  This will be a tough call for us to make if we aren’t confident that we have our members behind us.  Again, as your bargaining chair, I know how frustrating and inconvenient these rallies and meetings are, but it really is a choice of showing up to fight, or settling for nothing.

New teachers to the district, we don’t recommend you attend the rally at 5 p.m., but please sit in at the board meeting at 5:30 p.m.  There will also be food served at 6 p.m. for those that attend. Do not forget to sign in once you arrive, we will be awarding the sites with the highest percentage of members in attendance.

Sincerely,
ADTA Bargaining Team
